Authority Authoriity is Adams, not Walker & Jacobs. See Adams reference entry for explanation. Boys & Walker 1784 used multi-word name descriptions (rejected by ICZN Opinion), here "SERPULA (Lagena) striata sulcata rotunda / The round striated and furrowed Flask Wormshell. Adams (1798) used Serpula Lagena Sulcata, in capitals, a trinomen which is also dubious, but he appears to indicate Lagena is a subgenus-equivalent when he adds "S. (lagena) striata sulcata rotunda" as the description.[details]
