The systematic examination of about 656 samples taken from the Wasia, Aruma and base Hasa Groups penetrated in five wells of the Dukhan Oil Field resulted in identification of 191 foraminiferal species. Of these one genus and 17 species are considered new. The present study includes the systematic description of these new elements. The whole foraminiferal assemblage is used to classify the studied sequence into twelve biostratigraphic zones. These are Lockhartia Acme Zone, Acarinina broedermanni/Acarinina pentacamerata Zone and Lockhartia prehaimei Zone in the Early Eocene basal Umm er Radhuma Formation. The Aruma Group is classified into Omphalocyclus macropora Zone and Orbitoides faujasii Zone in the Late Maastrichtian Simsima Formation, Gansserina gansseri Zone in the Middle Maastrichtian Ruilat Formation, Hedbergella planispira Zone in the Coniacian/Santonian Halul and Laffan formations. The Wasia Group is classified into Dictyoconella minima Zone in the Late Cenomanian Mishrif Formation; Asterohedbergella asterospinosa Zone, Hensonina lenticularis Zone in the Cenomanian Ahmadi Formation; Orbitolina qatarica Zone in the Albian Mauddud Formation; Asanospira diyabi Zone in the Albian Nahr Umr Formation. Correlation with neighboring areas is attempted.
