From the Late Eocene Globigerinatheka semiinvoluta Zone of the Guta Section (Fayoum, area, Egypt) Globigerinatheka index aegyptiaca n. Sp., is identified as an additional member of the G. Index lineage, it combines characters from both its immediate ancestor G. Index tropicalis and G. Semiinvoluta. The last chamber is nearly identical with that of G. Index tropicalis while the earlier part of the test compares to the corresponding part of G. Semiinvoluta.
