Diagnosis
Long-stemmed Physonectae, the whole stem (nectosome and siphosome) twisted into a spiral, nectophores thus spirally arranged in a cone-shaped or cylindrical nectosome. Long-stemmed Physonectae, the whole stem (nectosome and siphosome) twisted into a spiral, nectophores thus spirally arranged in a cone-shaped or cylindrical nectosome, feigning multiserial arrangement of the nectophores. Nectophores attached on ventral side of stem. Pallial canal with ascending and descending branches. Gastrozooids are borne on the ends of long peduncles, from which one of the, usually, three types of bract are budded off. Colony monoecious. [details]
