From editor or global species database
Synonymy d'Hondt is not completely convinced about the synonymy of X. beauchampi and X. intermedia, as stated by a number of sources. If X. beauchampi is an regularly observed species at the east coast of France, then d'Hondt has also collected a single specimen in the north of France (Wimereux)that was more resemblant to X. intermedia than to X. beauchampi (unpublished data, original material destroyed during preparation). Because of this strong resemblance, but clear difference between these two species (based on personnaly collected material), d'Hondt is not really convinced these two species should be put into synonymy.
