Classification Fabricinae (correctly Fabriciinae) was upgraded in rank to the separate family Fabriciidae (qv) by Kupriyanova & Rouse (2008) [details]Spelling The original spelling of Fabricinae used by Rioja (1923: 15, 50) was silently corrected to Fabriciinae by Johansson (1927: 112), but usage as Fabricinae generally continued until the late 1960's, when Fabriciinae slowly replaced it in taxonomic works, for example Jones (1974: 218). Usage continued beyond that period in ecological works. Fauchald (1977: 136) still used Fabricinae in his 'pink book' of definitions and keys. [details]
