Type material Some type material of S. crassicornis var. bermudensis (18 specimens) is in the USNM (109454–66). According to Shoemaker (1945a) 50 specimens were collected from near Bermuda, 300–1000 fathoms. A male is illustrated by Shoemaker (1945a). [details]
