Diagnosis Hyocrinidae with Basals fused or with a few inconspicuous sutures, aboral side of basal circlet flanged. Arms irregularly branching, first branching between brachials 8 to 15, additional branching more distally. Second synostosis between brachials 5-6. Maximum number of consecutive muscular articulations ~9. Distribution of nonmuscular articulations along middle arm irregular. First pinnule on brachial 4. Expansion of genital pinnules with numerous, imbricated, small plates, never in rows. Tegmen inflated, with well developed anal cone. Columnal symplexies with 7-16 crenular units of 1-4 crenulae, depending on columnal diameter.  [details]
