Nomenclature Kirkpatrick named Rhabdocalyptus plumodigitatus in 1902 as if he referred to R. lophodigitatus (same locality data and apparently same specimens). This has been picked up by Ijima, 1927 in his list of known Hexactinellida at the end, but he apparently believed R. plumodigitatus was the right name. Later authors only mention R. plumodigitatus and ignored R. lophodigitatus. [details]
