Synonymy Thanks to Andreu Santin Muriel for pointing out that the publication date for the synonymized genus Astromimus Von Lendenfeld (1897) is the same as that for the senior name Axinyssa, so it is not certain that the present genus name is the senior name of both synonyms. Since Astromimus has been used only for its type species and that species is a junior synonym for an earlier named species, leaving both the genus name Astromimus and its type species name unused, it is largely unused. If at a future occasion the exact publication dates for both synonyms would result in the present name being the junior name of the two then we would invoke ICZN art. 23.9 (reversal in precedence) to suppress Astromimus in favor of the present name.
