The first record of the mud volcano worm Maxmuelleria lankesteri for the Netherlands is reported, based on a single specimen collected from the Dutch part of the Frisian Front in the North Sea. It was collected with a dredge collecting the upper 20 cm of the soft bottom. This brings the total number of Echiura recorded from the Netherlands to two. Distribution and habitat of M. lankesteri are discussed.
