A total of 66 stomachs of Vinciguerria nimbaria collected from the 30 stomachs of Bryde's whales (Balaenoptera edeni ) during April-July in the southwestern to central North Pacific were examined. In the stomachs of V. nimbaria (36-60 mm F.L.), a total of 54 Calanoida, 19 Cyclopoida, Ostracoda, Amphipoda, Euphausiacea, Chaetognatha, Pisces and zoea larva were found. Both frequency and individual numbers as the prey items showed that copepods were found to be most important in the diet of this fish species. Ostracoda was one of the other important prey items and unidentified small Euphausiacea, Amphipoda and Chaetognatha were also important during earlier season, April-May. The statistical data showed that about 30% of Bryde's whales occurring from April to August in the southwestern to central North Pacific region feed Pisces food largely by V. nimbaria
