Louisianina pflumi and Grossmanella leroyi, new species of calcareous-perforate benthic foraminifera from the Gulf of Mexico, belong to two new genera, one of them serving as the type genus for the new family Louisianinidae. The principal diagnostic feature of Louisianina is the confinement of the aperture to the spiral side and the test margin; that of Grossmanella is the presence of conspicuous sutural pustules.
