Pisione inkoi sp. nov. (Annelida: Polychaeta: Pisionidae) is described from the continental shelf of Basque coast (SE Bay of Biscay). The new species is characterized by having notoacicula whose distal end projects outwards piercing the body wall, globular dorsal cirri, ventral cirri piriform, and parapodia having each long-, elongated- and short-bladed compound chaetae. A comparison with the pisionids also occurring in the study area and with other similar species is done. In addition, an identification key is provided for all known Pisione species.
