The polychaetes of the Japan Sea coasts are very poorly known. The present preliminary paper deals with a collection of errant polychaetes made from Tsukumo Bay and Mawaki of the Noto Peninsula. Of which 53 species herein reported 23 species of Syllidae have been described by Imajima (1966-67) and three genera, Sigalion, Pseuderythoë and Glycinde, have been first recorded from Japanese waters, and moreover, each species belonging to Sigalion, Sige, Phyllodoce, Anaitides, Glycinde and Diopatra may be considered to be new to science. Most of species are found on the southern Pacific coasts of Honshu.
