Remark According to Stegenga & Kemperman (1983: 71), Acrochaetium candelabrum is probably ataxonomic synonym ofA. Ryukyuense (Nakamura) Papenfuss (1945: 307) (Rhodochorton ryukyuenseNakamura, 1941: 275--278, figs. 2, 3; type locality: Naha, Ryukyu-retto, Japan), applicable to a species not reported from the Indian Ocean.
