Remark Microstructural analyses of all species of the family Spongiomorphidae Frech, 1890 made by Gautret,Ezzoubair and Cuif 1992, Ezzoubair and Gautret 1993, and Cuif and Gautret 1993 showed an affinity of this group with Astraeomorphidae Frech, 1890, with the exception of Heptastylopsis ramosa Frech, having trabecular microstructure. Although the analyses of the microstructure of different members of this family enlarged the knowledge of this group, further investigations still are needed.
