Comparison In addition to description of the type species, comparisons with externally similar genera Conophyllia d'Orbigny, 1849, Myriophyllum Cuif, 1975 and Craspedophyllia Volz,1896 are to be found in the text and/or figures in Cuif 1975:50, and next pages: Conophyllia has parietal columella, sometimes compact, but polyaxial, and septal faces with granules and synapticulae; Myriophyllum has rudimentary, parietal columella, septal sides without prominent micromorphology, no synapticulae; Craspedophyllia with monoaxial columella, has septa with thin, midseptal zone composed of small trabeculae, and menianes on the flanks. [details]Diagnosis Solitary, or permanent state with 2-3 additional centers; calices nearly flat; columella styliform, monoaxial; septa subequal in thickness, abundant, anastomosing;trabeculae thick; septal flanks with pennulae; endotheca composed of small, thin-walled dissepiments; epitheca pellicular.
