Status Beauvais, 1964 considered erroneously that Heliocoenia Etallon "1858" (in fact 1859) was not valid because it was not figured. Then she created a new genus based on Heliocoenia tumularis Alloiteau, 1948 (non Astrea tumularis Michelin) with Heliocoenia variabilis Etallon "1858" as the first reference in the synonymy. Consequently, this genus is a junior synonym of Heliocoenia Etallon. She included 4 nominal species and one subgenus Kobycoenia in her new genus. [details]
