Diagnosis "This species is characterized by having a triangular process with minute spines on the shafts of spiniger-like chaetae of setiger 2, a large median antenna, and by lacking dorsal cirri on chaetiger 2." [details]

Etymology The specific epithet gigas is derived from Latin, meaning "giant", and refers to the length of this species, the longest one known in the genus. [details]
