Taxonomy Koltun (1964) assigned several Iophon species to the synonymy of I. spatulatum. Among these is I. unicorne, but as Desqueyroux-Faundez & Van Soest, 1996 demonstrated this has priority over spatulatum. The synonymy is accepted by most recent authors. [details]
