Description Description: disc scales with scattered blunt spines. Concentric dark and light colouration on the oral shields. Upper arm spine claviform. Aboral arm plates with light coloured edges.
Also distributed in Netherlands New Guinea (Clark, 1954); Maldive area, Ceylon, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China, south Japan and South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995); Lakshadweep (India) in Sastry (1991).
Ecology: benthic, inshore. General distribution: tropical, east Indo-west-central Pacific Ocean, probably littoral waters (Rowe & Gates, 1995); Maldives and Minicoy (India) to South Pacific Islands in Sastry (1991). [details]
