Taxonomy Informal group. Pisces (= Fishes) is a paraphyletic group. Although variable with time, Pisces contains the resurrected Agnatha, lampreys and hagfishes as extant groups (under the resurrected Cyclostomi), Chondrichtyes and Osteichthyes minus Tetrapoda.
