Taxonomy Fish are a now paraphyletic group. So Pisces will no longer be part of the formal classification.

Although variable with time, fishes contain also lampreys and hagfishes (Cyclostomata revived). Such groups as Agnatha and Cephalaspidomorphi are paraphyletic now as originally defined, because of new insights on some fossils.

Pisces = Vertebrata (= Craniata now) - Tetrapoda. [details]
