Etymology Schüller (2008) states that Pseudoscalibregma papilia is named for the shape of the posterior parapodia which resemble butterfly wings. Thus it looks like 'papilia' is a noun and must be treated as an unchanging noun in apposition, However, the Latin word for butterfly is actually papilio, -onis, m, and there is no 'papilia' word in Latin. No one has used it as a species-group name in WoRMS except Schüller, and the closest spelling after 'papilio' would be papilla, -ae f, meaning a nipple or bud, adopted into technical English with the same spelling. In contrast there are 170 'papilio' based names in WoRMS. 'Thus, although the author's intention is clear, 'papilia' is a mistakenly invented word, and must be treated as an arbitrary combination of letters and as a noun cannot be corrected to 'papilio' or to a gender-matching neuter adjective by subsequent taxonomists.
