Etymology Oligobregma mucronata [sic] as species group name is derived from the Latin mucro, referring to a sharply pointed thin aristate-like tip on some of the large acicular spines of setigers 1‒3. However, mucronatus -a -um meaning pointed is an adjective and the correct gender ending is mucronatum (not the feminine mucronata as used ) as Oligobregma is neuter. [details]

[details]
Grammatical gender The species group adjectival name should be 'mucronatum' as Oligobregma is neuter. This is a mandatory correction under the Code (article 31.2) [details]
Habitat Sediments coarse-grained in the upper 5 cm near the surface, overlying fine-grained silt and clay size sediments with depth, between 323-912 m depth.
[details]
Reproduction Sperm platelets observed in one large paratype measuring 10 mm long with 27 chaetigers. Individual sperm observed to have a short rounded nucleus, middle piece consisting of two spherical mitochondria and a long tail or flagellum. Morphology of juveniles described by Blake (2015: 82).
