Nomenclature spelling emended from hartmani to hartmanae by Scheltema (1998), following the provisions of ICZN (1985 edition in force at that time): Art. 31(a)(ii) "A species-group name (...) formed directly from a modern personal name, is to be formed by adding to the stem of that name -i if the personal name is that of a man, -orum if of men or of man (men) and woman (women) together, -ae if of a woman, and -arum if of women", Art. 32 (c)(i) "An original spelling is an “incorrect original spelling” if it contravenes a provision of Articles 27 to 31" and 32 (d) "An incorrect original spelling is to be corrected".
It is not clear from ICZN (1999 edition) whether this is still an incorrect original spelling or is considered as an unjustified emendation (the case is currently not listed as as mandatory correction under Art. 32.5); however those emendations are conserved as the accepted name for the sake of stability.
