Taxonomy Tryon (1888: 92-93), followed by Hertlein and Strong (1951), considered Cyclostremiscus beauii a synonym of Cyclostrema angulata A. Adams, 1850. The latter was described as from the Philippines and Bieler & Mikkelsen (1988) rebutted this synonymy. However Rubio & Rolán (2022) compared the types of both taxa, noted that C. angulatus, despite being a conspicuous species, was never reported again from the Indo.Pacific, and endorsed the synonymy.  [details]
