Additional information This is a formal description of Genus D, Species 1 in the recent Osborn et al. paper, which overall identified a number of previously undescribed species in the Torquaratoridae. Not all of them have been formally named (yet). Habitat Monterey Submarine Canyon and the base of Davidson Seamount between 60-100 km offshore of Monterey, California, at depths between 2,900-3,500 meters. [details]
Length The holotype specimen is ~26cm long. [details]
Morphology Ovaries are located outside of the body (in lateral wings, along the pharyngeal region). [details]
