Synonymy Stechow (1923b: 197), based on material from the same type locality and providing the exact same description as for his A. elsaeoswaldae (see Stechow 1923a: 115), unjustifiably introduced the new name A. pacifica for apparently the same hydroid. No type material assignable to A. pacifica could be located in the Munich State Zoological Collection (Germany), where the holotype of A. elsaeoswaldae (microslide ZSM 20041602) is housed. In addition, the figure provided in the original description of A. pacifica corresponds, in every respect, to the mounted type material of A. elsaeoswaldae. Moreover, the account on the latter (April 1923) precedes that on A. pacifica (November 1923). Consequently, there is little doubt that A. pacifica is nothing more than a junior objective synonym of A. elsaeoswaldae. [details]Unreviewed
