Validity Hyatt’s name is not an available name (as it has a fourth name, ICZN art. 45.5). Van Soest (2024: 29) proposed to assign this material from the Caribbean region to Spongia (Spongia) anclotea De Laubenfels & Storr, 1958 (cf. Van Soest et al. 2020: 45), deviating from Wiedenmayer (1977: 55) ewho assigned the material to Spongia tubulifera. [details]
