Ecology: As now recognised (for Great Britain), G.carpophagus (ss) is the coastal, arboreal and synanthropic form. [details]
Habitat: This species is either supralittoral or can be found in the intertidal zone but does not live there naturally. [details]
Taxonomic status: The two species Geophilus carpophagus (ss) and Geophilus easoni Arthur et al, 2001 have been separated and all older records of G.carpophagus need to be considered in this context. [details]
