Is likely conspecific with Halecium wilsoni Calkins, 1899.

Halecium washingtoni was incorrectly synonymyized with H. tenellum in Naumov (1969), which cannot be correct as H. tenellum is a a small, monosiphonic species. Synonymy uncritically repeated by Cornelius (1975b). [details]
