Description: Also distributed in north Australia and South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
Ecology: benthic, inshore. General distribution: tropical, presumably west Pacific Ocean, presumably from shallow waters (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
Remark: Mortensen (1943) coments that until further material besides the type is available from Japan, the identification of material from other areas remains uncertain (Clark & Rowe, 1971).
Holotype whereabouts undetermined. Type locality: Satsuma, southern Japan (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details]
