Depth range: Shoreline to 18 m. [details] Description: Littoral and down to 12 fathoms in Clark (1911). Also distributed in SE Arabia, Persian Gulf ( (Clark & Rowe (1971)). [details] description: Heterometra with very long, slender and perfectly smooth proximal pinnules without carinate processes on earlier segments. Arms usually 20 arms, up to 150 mm long, with wedge-shaped brachials. Cirri of usually 25-30 segments; distal cirrals with long, prominent aboral spine. [details] Spelling: H. savignyi in Fishelson (1971) and Tortonese (1977). According to Clark & Rowe (1971), the limits between africana and savignii need re-examination. [details] | ||||||||||||||||
