Description Length: 60 cm. Plumage: Adult black above white below with black band extending from upper breast down sides of body to feet, occasionally with a second narrower complete or incomplete black neck band and very sparce black spotting on belly; face black with broad white band separating face patch from crown and back of head. Immature sooty black on back, white on belly with sparce black spotting. Bare parts: iris hazel; bill black with cream band behind tip; feet blackwith pink blotches; skin above eye red. [details]
