Description: Colour in life: Very variable as noted by Balinsky (1957), but overall dark blueish with darker arm banding (Sloan et al., 1979). Also distributed in Tuamotus, Gilbert Islands, Canton Island (Clark,1954); SE Arabia, Maldive area, Bay of Bengal, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine, China, south Japan and South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971). General distribution: from the Red Sea to Polynesia (Tortonese, 1980). [details] Remark: In Subgenus: (Keystonea) A.M. Clark, 1967 Sloan et al., 1979.
