Description: Also distributed around Philippines (Pearson, 1910; Maldive area, East Indies, north Australia, Philippine and South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995). Ecology: benthic, inshore, detritus feeder, deposit feeder. General distribution: tropical, Indo-west Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-36 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995). [details] Remark: In Subgenus: (Metriatyla) Rowe, 1969. Holothuria aculeata Semper, H. bowensis Ludwig and H. modesta are treated as synonyms of H. albiventer in Ludwig (1899) and in Lampert (1896).
