Taxonomy This is an unlikely Axinella species because the only spicules present are long styles with microspined heads, a feature not present in the type species of the genus and most, if not all, its species. The affiliation of this species is still to be determined after re-examination of the type material, but it could belong to Raspailia (Syringella)[details]
