Reproduction: Breeds from Newfoundland, the southern shore of Hudson Bay, and southern Mackenzie south to Maryland, Missouri, and southern California. Winters from the central United States and southern British Columbia south to the West Indies and Central America. The nest is placed on a platform of vegetation among cattails and rushes. Eggs are laid from late May to mid July. [details]
