Notes  Taxonomy: Fide Maciolek (1990): "Spio limicola was synonymized with S. setosa by Hartman (1942) and with S.filicornis by Pettibone (1954), but was recognized as a distinct species by Holmquist (1967). Holmquist also synonymized S. arctica, originally described by Soderstrom (1920) in the genus Microspio, with S. limicola."  [details]
