| Notes | |
Polymastia mamillaris of most authors prior to the revision of Morrow & Boury-Esnault, 2000 must be referred to Polymastia penicillus. Polymastia mamillaris sensu Müller, 1806 is a separate valid species from Swedish Coast (North-esat Atlantic) and Barents Sea. The citations of this species of Polymastia from other parts of the world are highly doubtful. All the databases have to be checked carefully concerning this species [details]
Distribution: Prince Edward Island (from the northern tip of Miscou Island, N.B. to Cape Breton Island south of Cheticamp, including the Northumberland Strait and Georges Bay to the Canso Strait causeway), western slope of Newfoundland , including the southern part of the Strait of Belle Isle but excluding the upper 50 m in the area southwest of Newfoundland and the Gulf of St. Lawrence (unspecified region) [details]
Habitat: infralittoral and circalittoral of the Gulf and estuary [details]
