Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorEtymology The generic name Procerastea seems to intend to indicate the proximity of this genus with the genus Proceraea Ehlers, 1864, and apparently has the same origin, being composed by the Greek prefix pro-, meaning 'in front of', and the latinization of the Greek word kerastēs or kéras, meaning 'horn', referring probably to the presence of the lateral antennae in the anterior margin of the prostomium.  [details]
