Fifteen species of shallow-water Asteroidea, representing nine genera in four families, are recorded from collections made during the Sinbad Voyage (Oman to China) from the Lakshadweep (Laccadive) Islands, Sri Lank and Pula We (Sumatra). Paraferdina laccadivensis James 1973 is re-described and a new speceis (P. sohariae) is described. Range extensions are recorded for P. laccadivensis, Fromia nodosa and Thromidia seychellesensis.
