Three species, Syngastes gibbosus n. sp., S. subgibbus n. sp. and S. australiensis n. sp., are described. S. gibbosus and S. subgibbus are sibling species, they can be discriminated on the basis of body shape, ornamentation of the cephalosome shield, and number and arrangement of tines on the maxilliped. Syngastes gibbosus and S. subgibbus are similar to species recorded from the Maldives and Ceylon. Syngastes australiensis is similar to S. spinifer Fiers, a species known from the Maldives.
