Taxonomic remark This was raised as a replacement name for Orchomenella littoralis Nagata, 1965. It was stated by Hirayama, (1986) that since Orchomenella and Allogaussia were synonymised with Orchomene by J.L. Barnard 1969 this meant that Orchomenella littoralis Nagata, 1965 would be a homonym with Orchomene litoralis(Schellenberg, 1926), which is not the case (since the two names are spelled slightly different. In addition, Allogaussia litoralis Schellenberg, 1926, is actually a synonym of Orchomenella (Orchomenella) franklini (Walker, 1903).  [details]
