Description Carapace medium size, subrectangular in side view. In dorsal view, lateral margins subparallel and posterior extremity compressed. Dorsal and ventral margins straight and parallel. Anterior margin broadly rounded and posterior margin subvertical with 6-8 minute denticles. Surface of valves coarsely reticulated with large alveoles further subdivided into smaller fossae. Dorsal ridge prominent and parallel to dorsal margin, forming hook-shaped curve at anterior cardinal angle below eye tubercle. Posterior ridge obliquely joins dorsal and ventral ridges. Ventral ridge weak, running parallel to ventral margin. Anterior ridge prominent, joining eye tubercle and ventral ridge. Anterior border subdivided by 6-7 subridges into 7-8 subrectangular alveoles. Inner lamella relatively broad. Marginal pore canals numerous, simple, straight and gently inflated in middle. [details]
