Additional Material Re-examination of the material of A. mirabilis held in the collections of G. O. Sars (Oslo) and K. lang (Stockholm) by Conroy-Dalton & Huys (2000), revealed it to be based on an amalgamate of Ancorabolus inermis Conroy-Dalton & Huys, 2000 and A. confusus Conroy-Dalton & Huys, 2000. Additional material of A. inermis previously identified as A. mirabilis by K. Lang and G. O. Sars:
- 4 females in alcohol labeled Ancorabolus mirabilis (SMNH 15352 [old no. 495]), Gullmarfjord, Sweden, 60 m depth, coll. K. Lang; Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden.
- 20 females in alcohol labeled A. mirabilis (ZMO F20301), unspecified locality, Norway, coll. and det. G. O. Sars; Zoologisk Museum, Oslo, Norway.
- 1 male from off mouth of River Tyne, 55°00'N, 01°08'W, Northumberland, 72 m depth, coll. J. M. Gee.
