Nomenclature Chloenea pallida Kinberg, 1867 lacks any description and is an unavailable nomen nudum. Hartman Catalogue assigns it back to Chloeia although she lists the original name as indeterminable. It is indeed indeterminable, and as a nomen nudum it obviously cannot be reassigned to another genus. Hartman should not have done that. The name does not appear to have been used again by Kinberg. Hartman (1948) had examined the specimen and tentatively assigned it as Chloeia viridis of Schmarda. This has no effect on the unavailable status of Kinberg's name. [details]
