Type locality 2 immature specimens from Clew Bay, Clare Island, Ireland at a depth of 24 fathoms (=43.8m); Mature specimens in Dingle Bay at 19-20 fathoms (=34.7-36.5m) and probably also Blacksod bay (immatures only on south shore of Elly Bay). He drew the adults from Dingle Bay (SW Ireland), so this locality can be considered type locality [details]
